I recently (3 months ago) got an '03 Cooper with CVT. (wanted the manual... but thats another story). I've fallen in love since. It's an incredible car, and the handling with DSC off is excellent.

But since all of you already know that, maybe you could help me with 2 things.

1. With the automatic CVT transmission, there seems to be some kind of power limiting at around 2000rpms in first (or CVT) gear. Example: starting forward from stoplight, the car will accelerate to 2000rpms, stay at that rev for a while, then take of to redline or wherever. This limiting is really annoying when your trying to go fast, can it be programmed/chipped out?

2. Modifications to the CVT: bad idea or doesnt matter? I'm not planning to change out spark plugs/throttle body or anything insane, but I've looked at AFE intakes and borla exhausts, and they look to be pretty sweet. Any experience with this?

I've got an 03 Cooper with CVT... I love it.... it's really amazing like when you are going down a hill it shifts down for you... most other automatics haven't done that for me and yeh it's scary... haha
