Scratches on my windscreen, some advice please!!

I had my car washed without being there in person, when I took the car away it was dark and I didn't notice them straight away.
The Next morning in the Sunlight I noticed scratches consistant with something being rubbed over the glass.

Although very fine they don't seem to want to come off

Any suggestions?

Never let anyone else clean your car, rule no.1

I'm not sure about that though, what sort of place was it you took it?

I know mate, it's a poor excuse I know but when I do the car I end up not only washing it, but doing the underside, arches, Wheels, etc etc.

If I take it through a hand wash I watch everthing they do, including a Spotty youth complete with baseball cap, rubbing over my motor with his Elizabeth Duke Collection dalgleing on my paintwork.

So what could I do.... The thing that un hinged Mini owner would do ...I told him to take em off, lousy scutter

Never again

You made a chav take off his sovereigns? a brave man indeed!
I know what you mean about the cleaning though. I don't clean mine nearly as often as I should, simply as I don't like doing a half a**ed job, and to do it properly it takes at least a day!

I know how you feel. My idiot brother in law tried to squeegee my rear window only to scratch the hell out of it. I asked him twice not to but he insisted, I should have stepped up at the time but now I'm just bitter.

Nobody washes my car and I won't even use car-wash water anymore. Have you ever put that sludge in a bucket? Try it someday. Ugh!

I'm a bit new to this posting business.

All the cars that I've ever had that have had scratches to the glass, an acquaintance of mine who was an amateur jeweler used to try and polish them out, but unless they were very light, with little success. He used to say polish it with "jewelers rouge" or "a jewelers rouge" or something like that.

Not much help I know, unless you know a jeweler .

I've had a similar problem with my other half's car, I posted a thread on it after seeing a couple of post like yours.

Have a quick look it may be worth checking the rest of your car out. If you've not already done so.

Mine's the one on the left.
