Fan noise at high speed??

Hi,

I have owned my 06 Cooper S around 2 weeks now. I've not been ragging it much, but when i've taken it to quite a high speed there seems to be a very strange noise coming from the centre of the dash...........its as though the fans inside the car come on higher to compensate for the speed your going!lol,

Any ideas?!!
