Belgium Nurburg Ring?

I'm thinking about a trip over to the Nurburg Ring in Germany sometime in the Spring next year. Anyone on Mini2 been before? If so, can you give me any hint's or tip's on what to do and where to stay?

Or would anyone like to join me, give their Mini's legs a real stretching on an Autobahn!

Hi Ya

We went to Nurburg on the way to the IJ this year, unfortunately we didn't get to go on the ring itself as it closed 5 mins before we got there ARGH!!!

Stayed at a great little hotel only 2 mins away from the track and very reasonable. I'll sort out some info for you tomorrow and see ya at the pub.

Been there twice, driven 3 laps (not with mini) As a passanger roughly 30 laps.
It's the place to be if you like cars.
Check Ben Lovejoy's website for more info.

Adenau is a great place to stay if not interested in camping.

I've been twice now and done 6 or 7 laps (the last couple were in the wet ) and am planning on going again and again there is a good hotel just up the road from the entrance to the Ring and its pretty cheap - the Ringhaus. if not, as ToniM says, Adenau is really nice too if you want anymore info, just ask

here's a couple of sites for you:

Ringhaus - Altes Forsthaus St. Hubertus
Ben Lovejoy's Nurburgring Nordschleife website

yes but Jo I controlled it and did it in style (seriously though, it was very very greasy and I wouldn't recommend doing it if its wet or even damp, and you're a very first timer - I was lucky!)

hi tara&paul,

let me know something, when you plan your trip. we use to drive there regularly (of course not in winter) we are always about 12 to 25 mini drivers and it would be great, to drive there in an international corso . on my hp on (mini-eventcalendar) you can always see, when we plan trips to the ring, also other activities.

would be a big thing, if we can join the ring together netxt year. by the way the ring is not that far from me (about 70 miles)

ok, looking forward to see you...

My friend and i were planning on heading there this weekend in his merc cosworth 2.3 16, not my mini. The forecast is for snow though so we're leaving it until next spring, so if anyone fancies been beaten by a 20 year old car Doing a grand tour of britains roads instead

Chili Red R56 Cooper aero kit side repeaters, ITG panel filter, Eagle F1 GSD3's, Silver vision bulbs and soon to have a cat back exhaust and chip

How long did it take to get that brown stain out of the paseenger seat from Matt21?

I almost did the same as you when you were my passenger...

Was great fun, difficult in the wet. The area itself was full of interesting cars, we saw many new cars whilst we were there

This is starting to sound like a plan? I'll keep you all informed as to when I'm going, probably be sometime late March or early April?

Sounds good to me, was planning a trip for the summer with friends in RX7s, BMWs and others, but a MINI convoy would be a riot! count me in!

been three times now, everytime you go you learn more and see more. well worth it.

not really that far either, about 5hrs top from calais/bolougne.

imo best hotel is in ardenau, i forget the name but it is massive next to the ring and all over ben lovejoys site. lots of good places to eat nearby too. but if you do do this book early, past two times could not get in.

as others have said take it easy. the track is very unforgiving and one slip up and your car will be gone as well as a large chunk of your bank balance and pride. (ian)

but most of all go and enjoy it! make sure you check when it is open. weekdays much quieter but only open for a couple of hours in evening.

let us know how it goes!
