Question Body Coloured Bumpers

I don't really know what to make of them. My instant reaction to buying a new MINI would be to ensure the bumbers were colour coded. Although looking at a lot of the MINIs on here I like the regular bumpers and seeing MINIs where the bumbers are colour coded looks almost alien to me. I have a friend who had them colour coded and her MINI just looks normal to me, i'm not sure if I've just got used to it though.

I've noticed a lot of the MINIs on here don't have body coloured bumpers. Is this for a reason? Personal preference?

PS, I'm talking about the plastic bumpers that appear around the wheel arches and elsewhere.

Hi, presumably you are talking about the black plastic skirting under the front and rear bumpers, around the wheel arches, and along the side skirts being painted? If so they are black plastic on all MINIs as standard - although some owners choose to have them painted. It's a personal choice but I prefer them to be black.

On some MINIs, colour coding works really well.

I tend to find that brighter coloured cars look better with the black trim as it provides contrast.

For example, mine is yellow with a black roof and black bonnet stripes. The black trim complements this.

I think that's probably why some of them look a but alien to me tbh.

I love the colour keyed look, but agree that it doesn't work with all colours. Yellow always looks best in bumble bee spec

Couldn't resist putting one of mine in

Thanks

I was in the right place at the right time when I got mine sorted, so it wasn't very expensive. However, normally it's around £700 to £1200 depending on who does it and how good a job they do....

Very nice Lorenzo7.

Could this thread turn out to be the much needed gallery for colour coded MINIs ?

It would be great if it did...

Tigger.

I personally think colour coded cars look a bit plain, I somtimes think theres a reason why things like this arent offered as an option

Good thing with mini's though is that there are so many ways to customise them and whatever you do they always turn out looking good

I prefer the non colour coded look, but it would be a boring world and boring minis if everyone was the same
