Offline | You can get non-dealer spot light set-ups from the MINI performance stores, some of them are almost identical to the original dealer ones and as stated the grill is the same grill, it's just slightly modified, ie cut or filed out, you can also get some better ones than the original dealer ones, some may fasten on slightly differently so there may be no need to modify the grill .![]() ![]() ![]() Destined to live life £5 behind. Offline | Hi, "johnlondonw3" sorry I've been off line a week or so (still having problems). I can't really advise you which are the best for the MINI, In My Opinion you need to see the lamps and make up your own mind, because like anything else there are good & bad (good quality & bad quality) ones, although a good name (brand) will generally be better quality than an unknown name, it also depends on your taste or what your looking for?, some huge ones that light up everything for miles or something that looks good but doesn't really light up anything (just for show ).I do actually like the Genuine BMW (I have seen identical copies) ones myself but I'm also a big fan of Aero-kits and I don't like the idea of cutting the grille's out to fit them, so I have never fitted any to my own MINIs. On the rust issue the Genuine BMW ones do seem to rust a bit (it's one of the few chrome parts on a MINI that is actually metal and not plastic chrome ), especially ones that have been on for a few years, I have had a couple of issues with the Genuine BMW spot-lamps where I have come to fit Aero-grille's for people when they have had spot-lamps fitted and to do this you have to remove the spot-lamps but unfortunately due to the exposed nature of the lamps the bolts that hold the lamps to the brackets have seized up and it can make quite a simple job very difficult / awkward and can sometimes damage the spot-lamps.Saying that at least you know what your getting from the main dealer , some of the other outlets where you can get spot-lamps and stuff from don't always have the same supplier over time and the quality & style can change especially as everyone is out to get a bargain (bargain & quality don't always go together ), and the outlets are always trying to cut costs or changing their suppliers to get better deals (not always in the final buyers favour ).Sorry! it's not much help .![]() ![]() ![]() Destined to live life £5 behind.
