Hello, I am brand new to Mini's and also to this website. I just bought a brand new 2007 Mini Cooper S. I love the turbocharge!

I was wondering how many miles I'm supposed to drive slow to break in the engine. and how slow am i supposed to drive?

If anyone can help this noob out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thnx

Hi and welcome

The run in instructions are in the manual and from memory it's 1200 miles, keeping below 4500rpm.

And, while you're at it, vary the engine speed (under 4-4,500) as much as possible and, if you want to take care of it, swap the oil and filter over at the end of the running in period.
