United-Kingdom 3D Sat Nav on JCW Cooper S 03

Hi Guys

Can you help please?

Just brought my 03 JCW Cooper S, awesome drive.

I have installed the latest Sat Nav disc from Mini, is it possible to change the view to 3D, I am confused as to if I can change the display or not?

Thanks

We need to know if you have an MK3 or MK4 Nav system in your car. To find this out, go to the setup menu and up in the right hand corner are some numbers. Post them here and we can tell you what you have.

OK, you have an MK4 but the software is really old. V22 firmware.

If you go to Simply MINI, you can download one of the lastest firware in ISO format. You will need to upgrade the unit to this version before you can get 3D view.

Do you know how to burn an ISO?

Does this software upgrade also mean that as well as perspective view, I also get Postcode entry and Speed camera alerts?

Actually you want the V29 CD and don't need the NAV key.

Postcode is based on the new DVD (DVD only) and cameras has to be added via a DVD hack.

I have also downloaded V29, should I use this instead of V26?

Sorry about lots of questions, I just want to get it right

, no problem.

Yes, burn the v29 ISO image to a CD using mode 1. Then go to the car and put the key in turning it to position one. Pop the DVD you have out and pop the CD in and wait. it will eventually boot the CD and update the OS. This will give you perspective mode which we will have to turn on.

To turn on perspective mode go to the setup menu on the nav and then press and hold the mode button. In about 10 seconds another hidden menu will pop up (service menu). scroll down and you will see an item called perspective. Turn it to on and then press the mode button to go back to the system. Bring up the map and then change the view to perspective.
