| Not a happy bunny. | Anyone got MINI involved when they are not getting the service they expect from their dealer ? 4 times my Cooper has gone in to get the dashboard rattle fixed, and 4 times it's come out of the dealer all hunky dory only to have all the rattles reappear within a week. This time all the rattles appeared again after 7 minutes of driving back to the office ! I'd have turned around and gone back if I wasn't on the motorway. Apparently all the rattles were "gone" when they test drove it... I read the engineer's report with the MINI Service Advisor. Also, the gurgling from the heater matrix was supposedly fixed, yet that still exists ! Advice required if poss. Very very very ****ed off. I have spoken to MINI Customer Services on 08705050160 (if anyone wants the number !) and pressed Option 3 and spoke to an advisor. She is going to speak to the BMW garage to see if they can rectify it once and for all. What's the chance of me being able to reject my car after a year ?! Needless to say, unless they fix these problems next time, I will not be buying a MINI again. My 14 year old Peugeot was more reliable than this MINI branded waste of money ! GRRRRR. |

![]() Hacked the IBUS | Oh dear, hope you get it sorted. In the past when I have rung MINI, I seem to get the the response that as the dealers are mainly franchised network, the service issue is lays between the dealership and consumer. MINI only get involved if there is a major manufacturing problem with the car... |

| Not a happy bunny. | i see this as a major manufacturing problem with the car... it's a year old and it rattles like hell. that's a fault as far as i'm concerned. i'm just trying to find out if people have reported good things once MINI get wind of the problem and step in. |

Offline | One question (might be stupid) is that if it's temperature related, maybe you keep the car outside, them inside (or vice versa) and the rattling parts are warmer/cooler in the given situations, so it's hit and miss? | Not a happy bunny. | nope, it's all the time. i collected the car from BMW (i saw them drive it back into the carpark after the "test drive") and the car was warm. the rattles are there all the time, regardless of how long i've been driving. edit; to give you an idea of the main rattle, it sounds like the the CD unit is rattling around behind the dash... dunno. it sometimes sounds like metal vibration and sometimes like plastic vibration... it's getting on my nut ! |

Offline | Legally apparently you won't be able to reject after a year and certainly not for rattles. We had more serious problems on one of our cars (not a MINI) and we were told by Trading standards that we could not reject as at the time we'd, had the car over 5 months. Even though they had not fixed problems that appeared in the first few weeks this was deemed as accepting it because we had carried on driving it. Our only option was to rescind which means you only get the dealer market value for the car and if they are awkward you have to take them to court to do it. We ended up settling out of court. |

Offline | I'm just keeping quiet now as I've got my sunroof adjusted by them and they have dropped the fee that they wanted yesterday. We'll see if it still whistles afterwards. Rec, I'm very sorry your MINI rattles and they can't fix it. You're going along the right route of MINI services though so see what they say. You're MINI shouldn't rattle and mine shouldn't whistle! maybe take it to another dealership? ![]() |

Offline | Hmm, an ammedment to the SOGA states that if a fault is apparent within 6 months, then it is taken as if the fault was there on day one ... In plain english, if you have a fault on your car (even minor) within the first 6 months, then it is the same as if the fault was there when you picked it up. Further, it is for the dealer to prove there isn't a problem, not for you to prove there is. Martin |
