Offline | Bad move if your after fuel consumption! instead let the car coast down in gear with no throttle, the engine will go into fuel cut off and use no fuel at all, if your idling in neutral the engine requires fuel just to keep running! Try this, you'll be surprised at the difference it makes! |

Offline | Try a different air filter setup. I've got a 55 reg Cooper that gave me on average 33mpg. Installed a K&N 57i kit (fitted easy in 40 mins) and now I get 44mpg on the same motorway journeys (Oh yeah and the car sounds just amazing with this kit on) ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Erm, just a quick question, the other day i filled up half a tank with total excellium, and traveled 31.3 miles says the trip, and when i arrived at bluewater the Red Light was on.... I mean WHAT THE HELL? That really doesnt seem right to me, thats the most its ever had, it only had a service 2 months ago when i bought the car.. but does that seem suspicious to anyone? |

Offline | The fuel light illuminates with approximately two gallons left? I don't know what model you have, but if you take the worst case scenario and assume it is a 11 gallon (UK measure not US) tank, and you filled the car to 5.5 gallons and had two left at the end of the 31 mile journey, you only averaged 9mpg (UK measure). I hope that there is just a fault with the gauge or light...... ![]() |
