Help! Its a certain birthday on News Years Eve and family want to buy me a private reg for my pressie, but I cant find one I like. I've got an 02 MCS and I'm female and my initials are JMP, first name Jayne. My name on here is what I was going to choose (J8YMP) and get it illegally spaced and put a screw in the 8 so it looks like an a, but I'm not too sure

I think it looks like my names Jay.........help

blank JMP on dvla all start £499 though

DVLA Personalised registrations

would not go illegal route despite failing mot u can get stopped by police and even lose your right to that reg with no refund

Don't get a car specific plate like MCS and don't get something that needs fiddling with to look like something. Eventually you will get pulled up for it, especially with the ANPR stuff being more widely used.

Don't mis-space a plate, looks absolutely awful, never mind it being illegal.

Why not:
J8 JMP (near enough, and has your initials!)
MC02 JMP
JP02 JMP
JA02 YNE

Agree about not getting a plate which will require illegal spacing, its not worth the hassle!

I got R99 JOL (my second name is Jolly, and I'm often called Jol by friends) for a bargain £250.

Shop around, and I guarentee you will find something decent.

don't mess around with spacing stick to legal. As you see I have a private plate and have just bought my wife one for xmas. but we are lucky as not many people have a sir name starting in V so there is a bigger choice. good luck.

What about C5 JYN which I came up on newreg.co.uk It could be CS (Cooper Sport) JYN (Jayne!) It's £400....

(I quite enjoy looking at reg plates, saddo eh?!! I want one but can't decide what yet).

Hi, I live at (forget-me-not cottage) we bought two plates £180 each, my wife Lesley Has L2 FNC on her Mini Cooper and I Rob have R2 FNC on my SLK, have you noticed how many motorists are getting rid of the year plates,

In my mind, they're OK as long as you don't mis-represent them, use numbers as letters or try to create a funny plate (PEN15 is taken), etc, you're OK.
