MINI2

I do have a model of a classic Mini with a German (would have been West Germany at the time) flag on the roof of it. German plates to I think (it is around here in a box someplace, I just moved office).

Only makes sense to me if it is a German registerd car.

German flag isn't and I think some Patriotic English owners wouldn't have such a thing.

After hitting a kangaroo shortly after getting my MINI I had to wait 7 long weeks for the repair. Due in part to the wait associated with a wiring loom for my car. You guessed it, it was made and sent from Germany.

For the last 4 years there's been quite a good contingent of MINIs at the local German Autofest car show as well. Which is kind of funny as we had to fight off some initial hesitancy from the somehwat uptight organisers. Then we go to the Best of British car day and they don't want no stinking BINIs on their turf.

I just tag along to all and enjoy the day.

Ya I'm Jewish, I know the impact it has on people. I have a ring and a box that was given to a family member of mine, there used to be ashes in it. I'm not saying it gives me license to have a really twisted sense of humor, which I do have, but don't mistake and think I'm dispassionate.

Ah.... I was just curious. Living over there (US Citizen) I have made a ton of German friends and most of them wish that was a part of history they could remove. Most are just now coming to terms with what happened and working hard to make sure that generations never forget.

Anyway, I totally understand now.

I still think that the current German flag would look pretty cool.
