Offline | SInce BMW makes the new Mini, anyone have a German flag on the roof? I always thought that would be a pretty original/funny thing to do on a new Mini. Black with a German flag roof. heh or is there such a thing and I'm just behind the times? |

Offline | I wouldn't put a German flag on the roof myself, I just thought it was a funny idea. I saw something pretty funny on a Scion XA , it was a red with a rising sun flag on top, that cracked me up. If I find a black w/white top, I was thinking of a jolly roger. One of my buddies does the vinyl wraps that a lot of police stations and companies use on their advertisement vehicles, he'll do it for $100 he said. I don't know if I would like that for long though, the novelty would wear off fast I bet. |

Offline | At the risk of being flamed..........I sure wish they built them in Germany.. Pretty sure the "free" optional extras that come under the heading "really annoying things about the car I love" wouldn't exist if it were the case.. My car before the 1st of 2 Mini's was a 1993 Mercedes Benz 190E - one of the last ones made, all the options (not bad for the time and the "budget" model), had 90k on the clock and still looked and drove like new - not a rattle or squeak in sight, it was built like a tank, totally over-engineered!! Sold it to a collector who wanted a daily driver for his wife and then it turned up as the feature car in Mercedes Enthusiast, made me wish I had the space to have kept it. ![]() Cheers, Geoff. |

Online | I think you will find the 1st generation MINI has about 40% British parts content and the latest 2nd Generation MINI has about 60% British part content now due to the BMW/Peugeot engine coming from Hams Hall UK plant? |

Offline | I hope you don't mean a NAZI flag...although if you mean that, that is hilarious. I always thought a Scottish flag St. Andrews or the rampant lion would be cool, just depends on the base color though. and F no to putting an American flag on a mini, I know someone is gonna jump down my throat about that. For some reason that would annoy me to see that, overly patriotic Americans are the most annoying people alive. I live in the south, so that usually means they are just a racist that thinks driving anything other then a ford truck is a cardinal sin. |

| I miss my MINI | Funny? How do you figure that? I think that it would be disgraceful honestly but then again, I am an American that has lived here in Germany and seen what it has done to this country and everyone else around it. No, I personally wouldn't find that funny at all. ![]() There are other flags for Germany but I think that the current one would be cool. As for putting the a flag on the roof, it can be from any country. The idea of doing that is giving your mini a personal touch and that is one way of doing it. Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | I agree that if the mini were built in Germany it would be a far better car with none of the build quality problems we see on this forum. all cars built in England by and large have built in faults, even the English built Hondas now have build quality issues, but not the ones that are still built in Japan. unfortunately we cannot seem to produce a quality product in anything these days, I wonder why ?? |
