mk4 sat nav help

Help!!

Just bought a 2nd hand mk4 sat nav dvd unit to swap over for my mk3 cd unit. Removed the seat & turned the key to 1st position and ejected the old cd. Disconnected the battery and removed the cd unit. Put in the new dvd unit, which already had the dvd inside it. Put the seat back in and re-connected the battery. Sat down and put key in ignition and the screen hasn't changed! Still has all my old destinations on it Is this because we didnt remove the dvd from inside the unit first or could it be faulty? Have we done something wrong? Any ideas??

I think that the destinations are stored elsewhere. If the unit is working, go to the setup menu and tell us what the numbers are in the upper right corner.

What changes are you looking for? The biggest change is the fact that it uses DVD over the old CD unit. The graphics will change as well provided that the unit firmware is up to date. The numbers will tell us this.

OK, your new unit is a MK4 and it is running V24 firmware. You can get the latest firmware from my site. Simply MINI.

The latest is V30 and to update the unit you need to burn the ISO image from the download to a CD and then pop it in with your key in the first position. The updates takes a few minuets.

Sounds like you are up and running!

Pretty easy...

Download the file and unzip it. There is one file in it that ends with .ISO

This is an image of a CD, so you will need a burning program that can take that file and burn it to a CD. Something like NERO or MagicISO will work. Once that is done, you just pop it in. This upgrade will allow you to get perspective mode on the Nav (Birds eye view).
