Unhappy Problems with my exhaust!! And bluefin Q's!!!!

Ooook, basically my exhaust is really loose, it makes loads of noise when i drive, i think it may be a bracket.
I went to my local quik fit and they said there was nothing they could do, they looked at the car and told me to go to the dealer.... i was like it only needs a bracket or something. But they were so rude and unhelpful i just left.
So off to the dealer in the morning. Any idea how much this is gonna cost me???
Also does/can bluefin effect your insurance, e.g if you crash could they void it. . . . . .
Cheers in advance ev1!!

The rear exhaust brackets on the R50s, R52s & R53s are really bad for rotting (the one that clamps around the back box, usually the top piece ), I have seen them rust through on cars less than 3 years old, luckily they are not that expensive if that's all it is .

It's worth painting a new one before fitting with heat-resistant exhaust paint, I know your dealer isn't going to want to paint it but it's worth thinking about if your doing it yourself .

The parts cost about £30 from the parts department, but the dealer is going to charge lots more in labour to fit it.

They brackets definitely rust quickly. Mine rotted right through in a little over four years.

So annoyed!!!
any way to get the screen done from the insurance, as i reckon it would be quite expensive to replace on the convertible...

Your dealer wouldn't have been any cheaper. I replaced mine myself on the driveway and having done it once would gladly hand someone £50 to do it next time.

On the subject of your window, I'm finding it increasingly disturbing what some people will do. Your insurance should cover you for vandalism, but take into account the excess and potential loss of no claims bonus before deciding which route to take.

Can you actually change just the glass?, on some cabriolets you have to change the full roof cover just to replace the window , I have never had to do it on a MINI so I don't know (they look pretty well fixed in though ), so the insurance might actually come in handy .
