key battery

does anyone know if & how you change the battery on the key as i think mines getting a bit low...

If its the key of a facelift MINI (04>06) I think it charges itself while in the ignition, hence why they recommend you swap every so often between keys.

Of course I may well be wrong

All facelift 1st Generation Hatchbacks, all Convertibles and all 2nd Generation have rechargeable batteries in their keys.

I find with mine I often have to be stood right next to it to unlock it, otherwise it wont work

i'm not sue as everytime it's not worked i have had only the same key on me. next time i will see if i can try the other key to see if it's the car or the key thats faulty...
