Question Say it with light signals - starting with thank you

Hello MINI2 universe,
Do you ever find yourself trying to signal something besides the usual with your cars lights?
I bet MINI drivers are more apt to do this to each other due to the instant bond of Mini owners.

The other day I was driving and noticed a MINI in front of me trying to enter the Autobahn. I slowed, tripple flashed my high beams and coasted to let that person in.
The driver immediately got my message and once in the lane, gave me a "one right turn, one left turn" signal flash as a thank you! That was definitely a cool driving moment. As intentional as it seemed I doubt it was a coincidence.

I wonder, are there any other signal combinations out there that drivers or "MINI drivers" use that I just haven't seen yet? Maybe this thread becomes a reference or maybe I am WAY to optimistic.

PS - Still waiting on the first opportunity to order a 2009 MCS Cabrio as my first MINI..

Drivers (MINIs and non-MINIs) around here flash their hazards once or twice to say thanks.

I use my rear fog light as a thank you if it's cold and I'm wearing my top. When I'm topless, it's the peace sign.

If someones let me in front of them I nearly always flash my left, then right then left indicators at them! If I over take a MINI then I sometimes do this too!

ALTHOUGH SHE NEEDS A BIT OF GUIDANCE, LESLEY WILL BE MY BIATCH FOR NOW...!

People often think I'm thanking them with the left/right/left signal routine, but the truth is I find the R56 touch sensitive thing annoying.

I always let topless women out of a junction. And when they catch me looking at their airbags, they give me the reverse peace sign

I find it interesting how people flash their lights to convey that they are letting someone in, when its the opposite in the highway code:
110

Flashing headlights. Only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message or intimidate other road users.
111

Never assume that flashing headlights is a signal inviting you to proceed. Use your own judgement and proceed carefully.

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

I also, have seen the flash of hazard lights from other cars.

As far as the high way code, I don't think most are thinking of that when they flash their highbeams . I use them to get someone's attention when absolutely necessary or the timing is crucial. Its my choice because its "the brightest weapon" at my disposal, so to speak...

I have a feeling im going to have that problem

I remember when I test drove an R56 a few weeks after launch, the Audi behind me must have thought I was a right loony

I tend to not say thank you/sorry with my Hazards.....a MINI let me into a line of traffic once so I put them on to say thanks, then I had the slight problem that they wouldnt switch off After 4 attempts of pushing the button it worked
