You're pretty much wasting your time trying to sell a car anywhere at the moment.

Give it a couple of weeks then put it on PistonHeads. AutoTrader, eBay Motors and the Classifieds on here.

I second that, the "Scrogg" knows what he's on about (when it comes to selling cars) , I can't comment on anything else , and the 1st comment is only in my opinion , judging from what I have read on MINI2 .

Mine's the one on the left.

What he said

Piston heads, MINI2 classifieds, Autotrader or eBay are good places to sell.

But also remember that you won't sell if its overpriced and it will always be perceived by yourself as worth more than it actually is, mods and options really aren't worth that much come resale time. People will only pay what they think its worth not what you think its worth.

What he said +.

The MINIs are a little more complicated on the mods & options front (the used car sales side of things anyway), they are not like normal cars, if you tick all the boxes when specking a MINI you can end up with a MINI with a third plus of the value in the options and that will make a difference on a used MINI, but as "Rakey" says "People will only pay what they think its worth not what you think its worth.", people will only pay what they think it's worth, but thinking & knowing what it's worth are two different things (samething applies to the owner ).

I know of some traders who don't normally deal in MINIs, they have had a MINI for sale and it's sold straight away, so they've bought another and the same thing has happened again, when a car does that in the used car trade they will be considered by a trader to be good-news and they will then buy them when they can, but I have seen them get stuck with MINIs as they have bought one with little or no options and got stuck with it (they then sometimes fall out with them (the car)) .

On a similar note a "goe-public" has said "I've bought this 04 MINI for £6,000", and another "goe-public" has said "I've bought this 01 MINI for £6,000", and there is no comparison between the two cars the 01 MINI being better than the 04 MINI (just an example).

The options can also have a different value to different people, an option that you consider as good, someone else wont, eg an Eskimo wont value Air Con the same as an Arab who lives in the desert and vice-versa with the heating system , so again "Rakey" is right in what he says .

Already been said, but talking to a few local main dealers recently (pals in the trade sort of thing) and it seems like virtually NOTHING is shifting at the moment - new or used. They say it's a lot quieter than what's already accepted as being a quiet time of year.

'spose they won't even get the 'rush' for new cars being registered on Jan 1st like in the old days as most folk will probably wait for new reg in March.

Good luck selling your S though
