Is this the mileage you see when you turn on the ingition? If so, then yes it will need a service/inspection.

How old is the car? Does it have TLC still current on it?

If it doesnt have any TLC then the only people who can tell you how much it will cost are your service dept. as the labour charges vary from place to place.

Remember if it doesn't have TLC then you can go to any independant mechanic for servicing which will be a lot cheaper than using a main dealer.

No software is necessary, it's a simple sequence to reset the service indicator outlined in the Haynes Manual.

I can't recommend anyone around Sunerland, I would get a quote for a service from a dealer just to see how much it is. Or look for a local BMW or MINI specialist.

DIY

I'm at a similar point to you... 5 years coming up but it'll be my fourth service.

The mini servicing works; Oil change, Inspection1, Oil change, Inspection 2.

With mine being fourth service it's Inspection2 (the big one), so thats air filter, spark plugs, polen filter and poly-v belt (fan belt) over and above the normal oil and inspection 1 service.

Fawdington BMW, Newcastle quoted me £300 all in but Coopers Mini (aka Mill) at boldon, Sunderland quoted £271 all in.

Still expensive for a small hatchback!!

"i'm f.i.n.e" ....
