when i bought my first mini i was caught out by the mini"click" and the flashing of respect to other mini owners, now in the nearly 2 months ive had mew new mini, i dont think any have pflashed,and today i mus have mde a big effort to flash at least 5 mini which none responded! how rude! or am i missing something??

Sorry to say it's not like it was It's still fairly common in Cornwall, but in a lot of areas it's now the exception

Doesn't stop me from continuing to flash and wave though

I tend to just wave ... unless there's no other traffic around. But I wave at every opportunity

Generally, I wave and honk. Some people return the greeting and others don't. I haven't gotten into the habit of flashing my lights because of the inclusion of the bi-zenons. I don't want to hasten the replacement of them by wasting extra ignitions by flashing the lights all of the time.

Depends on what sort of mood i'm in.. I tend to do it more on the way to work in the afternoon and when i'm out and about doing things.. but I dont do it at night or early morning for obvious reasons lol..

I think as the new MINIs have been around for six years now, the novelty factor has warn off a bit.... plus not many people waved to start with - and its gradually decreased

I had someone flash me this morning in Pershore. I waved back as I felt too ill to reach to flash my lights back.

Its rarer than it used to be, but I still do it every now and again if it looks modified. Otherwise I just wave.

I think it has slowed right down since the arrival of the R56. People don't know whether to wave or not.

Especially me, are 1st gen classed the same as 2nd gen?

The one that flashed me today was a R56. I didnt even think of it as any different to the other ones.

I drive 8 miles to work every morning, on not very busy roads, and i pass 5 different minis and two of them always flash and wave. and there both female

it has definately decreased. But if we all keep flashing and waving at other MINI's, maybe it'll begin to spread a little.

My sales exec never told me about it when i had my first cooper, and i didn't know until i got waved and flashed for the first time. Now i always make a point of doing it, regardless of how miserable/enthusiastic the other MINI is!
