Best Colors For Re-sale?

my dream car poped into my lap the yester. im only in the price bracket for a 02-04 S or maybe a 05 chilli or less. but the other day an 06 chilli S with 15,000 miles poped into my lap in my price range, only thing is that it was british green, which i dont mind, but not many people can handle it.

i should have bought it

anyway i was speaking to a dealer and he said that the color would be hard to tell and may even make the car worth less. he said even the dark blue would be hard to re-sell. i guess its an personal thing but WHAT COLOR IS YOUR MINI AND HAVE YOU HAD PROBLEMS SELLING A MINI IN THE PAST BECAUSE OF ITS COLOR

and please dont say i should have bought the other car because i will cry

Avoid BRG at all costs as the more of 'em there are, the less exclusive mine will become!

With BRG you can always break up the colour with stripes and a roof of different hue! dark colours show up the dirt quicker than say Silver.

Yes.......
Very true - please don't order BRG/Black.........it especially looks the biz with darkened glass and sunroof..

You can't drive in London these days without seeing a dozen Mini's (which is good) but I've never seen another S the same as mine and it's nice - previously had Astro Black and there were always loads..

Cheers, Geoff.

And if you are speccing a BRG Clubman make sure you get a silver roof and Cs - and lots of stripes. (!)

I thnk you'll find the MINI is so popular it will sell no matter what colour it is. Get a colour you like and enjoy it!

Not necessarily MINI specific, but colours I've heard that can be difficult to sell include -

yellow
green (I personally reckon BRG is good, although some 'minty' and lime greens aren't to my taste)
copper/gold shades
white (although the 'off-white' nature of MINI Pepper White shouldn't be a problem)
brown (although the new metallic brown of the Clubman should be OK)
beige (sometimes referred to as "hearing-aid beige")
light blue (sometimes referred to as "varicose vein blue")

Red should always be a good colour on the MINI, even if it's far from fashionable on other cars as it was in the 80s/90s.

I love yellow, but perhaps wouldn't be brave enough to specify it! There again, if you love the colour and plan on keeping the car, why worry about what others may think and resale value.

I agree, pick a colour that YOU are going to love. Pink is fashionable these days...

Williams Bolton refuse to buy BRG MINIs and are reluctant to part-ex as they cant re-sell them

I personally think the whole point of the MINI is that it's a cool and quirky car, so you should have one that YOU like and that you can put your mark and personality into

Btw - Hi everyone! I'm a newbie
