That is exactly what i thought as well when thinking about it again in the evening....

Adit, it sounds to my like your dealer could be trying to cash-in on the price increase, so ask to see a copy of the letter from MINI detailing why the price has gone up and which cars are affected before agreeing to pay it.

I think so too.

Am going to speak to him tomorrow and clarify the whole thing.

I'll be annoyed if the 08 changes incorporate indicators into the door mirrors

If you threatened to withdraw your order because of the price increase, i'm sure the dealer would swallow any price difference for the sake of keeping the order.

That did the trick. They are not going to charge me the extra £290 now and delivery is set for 1st March.

He confirmed that the cars being built from week 10 onwards are going to have DSC as standard.

As a car salesman myself, i knew what we would do rather than lose an order

Week 10 is week-commencing 3 March, so your car wouldn't have been affected by the increase anyway.

Unhappy

I too am getting my new Cooper S on 5th March ( My dealer is too busy on Saturdays for me to take delivery on the 1st!).

I have checked the small print and it says that the price could go up if BMW changes the recommended price after you ordered but before you take delivery. I have 14 days to decide whether I want to cancel (No!!!!), otherwiase I have to pay the increase. It seems that if an increase is made for March deliveries they are catching alot of extra revenue as many people wait for the new plates.... April would seem a more normal time to make an increase.

I think we are trapped if we want a new Mini in March. I am awaiting the phone call......

Does this happen every year?

The price increase only affects cars built from Week 10, so the dealer is pulling a fast one!!

Sorry, I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere else, but the price increase only affects R56 Hatchback. Clubman and Convertible are not affected.

My local dealer dealer has still got build slots available for March/April delivery which will be built before the price increase, standard fitment of DSC, and moving of the auxilary input (I think thats a bad idea.....looks ugly)

It does not look as bad as in that picture - it's recessed quite a long way back, so from the drivers seat you hardly see it, but its easier to find and locate when you need it. Lets be honest, when would you ever look at it from the angle the picture (above) is taken
