Improved Steering

I've had my 53 reg Cooper S since August last year and I recently took it back to BMW as the steering didn't feel quite right. Anyway, they looked at and said it needed a replacement upper and lower steering column. While it was in there I asked about them fitting a JCW leather steering wheel when they had it apart, and they agreed to fit it for free, obviously I had to buy the actual part. Anyway I picked it up today and I have to say it feels great. I'm not sure if its the new wheel or the replaced steering column but either way it feels so much smoother now! By the way I managed to get the wheel for £220 inc VAT, is that a good price?

Sorry if this is pointless thread but I just had to share my joy!

If you got something free out of Coopers thats a result in anyones book!

We've sent 2 MINI's there from work to have new steering columns, and its not a cheap job.

Have you got any photos of the new wheel?

I'll take some when its light, as I only picked it up at quarter to 6 today!

Actually I've done alright out of Coopers now, I've had Spotlights fitted for free (I had to buy them) and now this! They also did my brake fluid for free today, and perhaps shouldn't have as you only get 1 free one with TLC as I understand, and as the car is 4 years old, you would have thought it would have already been done! Oh well

I havent bought the carbon inserts as I had the 3 spoke multifunction steering wheel before so I used the old inserts from my existing wheel. Anyone have just the bottom centre insert in carbon I wondered what it looks like?
