This may be a bit of paranoia on my part as this is my first mini.

I recently bought a 2nd hand 04 mini cooper s. Have been driving it relatively normally and on occasion pushed it a bit, but never to redline.

When i am outside the vehicle i hear a ratting noise on the left hand side of the engine (facing the car)...the noise sounds like a lose fan or something

Anyone have the same problem? or at least give me some clues before I rock up to the mechanics?
