Thats a real shame. You've always been very helpful when other people have questions about I.C.E.

You have put alot into Mini2, as you even offered a discount for pivileaged members.

I cancelled my Privileaged subscription to Mini2 when it got taken over, as i think its going downhill in places.

New owners shame on you for letting this happen. Mikey was/is a sponsor of the site who contributed to the fourms unlike some of your other advertisers and helped make MINI2 what it is to-day. He has given invaluable advise to numerous members and this is no way to treat him.
Although I am not a big contributer of this site, I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there just like me who feel the same way.
People its time to vote with your feet (and keypads) if Mikey goes I'm gone too.

Best of luck for the future Mike and I look forward to seeing you on 'Other Sites' soon.

The Forum has got diluted and diluted to a point where there are many sections that nobody posts in. New individual sponsor section is very poor setup.

Real shame to lose such a helpful sponsor. Sort of de-values the priveleged membership, as some sponsors offered discount. I for one would never have heard of NewMiniStuff here in Northern Ireland if it hadnt been for Mini2.

well its a damn shame if this is what the place is coming to. the people who run this site should get down on their knees & beg mike to stay. he has been an innovator in terms of enhancements for the mini - many of which have been adopted by mini themselves. when you look at the prestige cars mike works on, thanks to his meticulous attention to detail & quality, we should think ourselves lucky that he has dedicated so much time to our constant requests for info. from selling an ipod interface to an entire interior strip down i've never known him turn down a request for help. he offers the personal touch that this site is losing

Furious doesn't even begin to cut it for me Ger, I hardly darken the door of MINI2 since Paul left. Instead, we're left with Moderators instead of those who have an interest in the site. The issue with Moderators, is that a little power goes right to the head, and the chance to exert the power as a method of self gratification becomes irresistible for those who have it.

I've had a lovely article I wrote on my car, including photos, moved to an obscure forum, and upon entering into friendly discussion with the Mod about getting it returned to the correct Forum, I met a closed door, and ultimately ended up deleting the thread, which would have increased the post count of MINI2, and the hit counter too. And all down to a technicality about thumbnails, even though I was hosting the images on my own server to ease MINI2's bandwidth. Childish behaviour at best!

I've owned a lot of motoring forums in my time, and non motoring, and I've had Mods on those sites, and it's a waste of time unless you know them personally and trust them. MINI2 is going down the toilet rapidly due to this militant, rampant moderation. The site is littered with Google Ads, and now we're driving the stalwarths like Mikey out the door. Mikey has been a boon for me, and an infinite source of knowledge, help, and above all, impartial advice to owners here. I will miss you Mikey, and many others will too, but making a stand is the right thing to do, and I whole heartedly support you. I wish you, and the rest of your family in Formby all the very best, and you will be welcome on my forum at any stage without equivication, you deserve that at the very least.

To the new owners of MINI2, you're making a mess, and you'd best put the brakes on now, before it spirals beyond the failsafe of recovery. Let people post where they wish, let the vendors still give their advice, and promote their wares in the main forums, and above all, let people enjoy the site. It might be a source of revenue for you, but unless it's a source of amusement for your visitors, you will be cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I've not used your services Mikey, however I like others here are appalled that you feel the need to withdraw your sponsorship.

It was always a concern that when a 'business' takes over the running of someone else's hobby, things will never be the same. It looks like this is starting to happen here.

I don't frequent MINI2 nearly as often as I used to, but still have sensed a change in atmosphere since the new owners came in. Maybe this can be put right - I don't know. What I do know is things usually get less friendly the more money is involved.

I hope Mikey that you can reconsider your decision to leave - but I guess that's now in the lap of the forum gods.

I'm really sorry to read your post Mikey. Whilst I don't have a MINI anymore and rarely post, I felt compelled to reply. It's terribly sad to see someone who is always so genuinely helpful and enthusiastic be "squeezed" out. It is also incredibly short-sighted to let Mikey disappear I hope the situation can be resolved to your satisfaction Mikey - but somehow I'm doubting it

I've been a member since 2003 and have read many many many of Mikey's invaluable 8,500 posts and advise. Number of them I have dug up through the search to help me with new installments I have recently wanted to do. Without Mikey advising and suggesting then I think a very complicated section that many don't understand that is ICE will colapse. He is/was our resident expert/adviser/entertainer who corrected wrong advise and would always suggest the best route. I personally will miss all his posts and his pics of the other amazing cars in his workshop. I have bought from your web shop and will not stop recommending you/your website to everyone (even if I'm not allowed to here anymore) I really hope that this thread may have some pressure to the new owners to change and stop this happening but if not...

Mikey...... SINCERE THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK FOR 6 YEARS. I'll be on those forums if I need your help!

Don't be a stranger!
