It was good while it lasted & I feel sad to say it - but I have decided to withdraw my sponsorship of Mini2 thus I will no longer be around to give my advice.
Reason - I have been banished to my own little forum they have given me way down in the depths of Mini2. I am no longer permited to post about say a new ipod adaptor for the R56 in the R56 interior section or a new style rear lamp for a clubman in the clubman section. For me a stupid rule as people browsing the site will totally miss my announcements. I did a poll which showed exactly what I thought but it seems that someone is following new rules to the letter & sees fit to move my posts about.
I am one of the longest standing sponsors of this site & have paid a lot of money to keep it going & yes I have received good business from it but its just not acceptable for me the way things are being done. (Paul - come back at least you would listen to sponsors thoughts & would even float ideas past us before making changes.)
Some of the mods are putting the blame on certain 'tuners' for bickering - if so then shame on them & punish them but why everyone has to suffer I dont know.
I will see you around folks on other forums (have already contacted newminiscotland about becoming a sponsor) & I will ask my web developer about building a forum into my site

Sorry to hear the bad news You are a major asset to the site with no doubt. Will be defiantly miss. You must atleast stay around on a social aspect atleast??

Though I never had a requirement for any of Mikey's products and services, I feel that this is a great loss to our community.

What a great shame that ideas cannot be accommodated, and that common sense appears to have been abandoned.

I eagerly await a response from the other side giving sound reasons why negotiations have failed.

Mikey sorry to see you're leaving MINI2 as a sponsor but totally sympathsise with your reasons!

I can see why you're annoyed as many people filter out sections of this forum that they're not interested in.
It's a shame you can't make your annoucemounts as people sometimes don't know what they're looking for until they find it.

If you don't know a product exists you wouldn't necessarily look for it, which is why it's good thing to bring it up within the general discussions on this forum.

I hope though that you'll stick around as a valued member of this community

Well said !!!!!!! , I for one want it known by the mods that I am furious at the treatment of one of the most helpful and courteous people on here , I have done business with Mike several times and each time I was totally amazed by the professionalism and also how He was prepared to share his knowledge to make our hobby even better . all anyone has to do is look back over the posts and pages of advice Mike has contributed to to make this site what it was --- a good place to visit , I think Mike is correct to withdraw his support and I would like to point out to the mods that they have misread this one ---you guys are wrong and I am sure the 'hits' and 'posts ' count will soon prove that . I am not alone in wishing Mike well and I am sure Your loyal customers and Friends will continue to do business with You despite the efforts of some 'small minded' and sad individuals . oh and btw you are always welcome over on www,miniclub.ie We don't bow to commercial pressures from anyone .

As I said when you first posted about the changes to the site, I wont bother to repeat it as its not worth my time or effort.
What I will say is this.
MINI2 has now become a formulaic website run by what is or will be a faceless corporation which is dedicated to making money not the people who contribute and love it for what it is... or was
Ever since Global Domination of Car Forums.Com took over its gone increasingly down the tubes and I'm not feeling too much need to be here as I once did.

Whatever you end up doing Mike, I certainly valued your input and the work you did, as for other sponsors, well some I have supported and others not. I wish you well and will continue to put business yor way either directly or indirectly (I have a lot of contacts )

I sincerely hope that the current owners take on board what is being said in this and other posts and make changes before its too late. If they dont then the place will go to hell in hand cart, and it won't be powered by a 1.6 JCW 212 bhp motor.

Mikey, hope you dont have to go. One of the main reasons I joined this site was to keep on top of all the latest add-ons and mods for my car. Without this the site will be very quiet and lacking in info. Plus we will not be able to enjoy our Mini-ing to its full potential
