Morning everybody,
I was driving into work on the M3 this morning at around 7:45am and everything came to a standstill. After crawling along for a bit Capital radio reported that there had been an accident and I saw that the outside two lanes were closed. Moving up to the accident, there was a lorry sat in the middle lane and in front of it a poor, grey, 2nd gen S smashed to pieces. It looked like the impact had been to the rear but the lorry looked undamaged.

The Mini looked like it had done well but still looked totally destroyed. I just wondered if anybody knew if the driver was ok. It breaks my heart to see somebodys poor Mini like that

Oh, also the M3 is now shut northbound, junction 3 to 2, until 1:30pm.

omg poor mini.
Minis dont look good damaged, poor thing

i really hope the driver and any passengers are ok. any more information??

I heard this on the local radio too today - they were specific enough to mention a collision between and MINI and an HGV.... HGV driver was uninjured, MINI driver taken to hospital.

Hope all parties involved are okay.

Lane re-opens after motorway smash

ONE lane of a major motorway has been reopened following a two-car crash this morning.

The northbound M3 was closed between junction three at Bagshot and junction two with the M25 following a collision between a Mini and a lorry at about 7.35am.

One lane was reopened at 11.45am, but police are warning motorists to avoid the area as traffic is backed up.

The driver of the Mini, a man in his 50s, was taken to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, suffering from serious injuries.

The lorry driver was unhurt.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Surrey Police on 01483 639922
