Offline | Check (mate) me out! As some of you know, I had my DS/W S up for sale for the last couple of weeks. Had it in Autotrader, and apart from a couple of scammers, didn't get much interest, and after a few luckless days on eBay, I part-exed it for the new toy yesterday morning. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the sexy new wearer of B** CEL ![]() Full spec and more pics are here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/mini-coop...ml#post3322602 The guys in David Prentice were absolutely brilliant - Aaron caused me many sleepless nights with his constant text updates, and went out of his way to ensure the Checkmate was about as perfect as it could be for me picking it up. Nothing was too much trouble, and he was always good for a bit of banter. Thanks to NickyJ for helping me count down the number of sleeps, to 118 for helping me spec my barra in the interim, to Phanny for metaphorically holding my hand as we handed over our previous MINI keys almost simultaneously on Saturday morning (good luck with the new car hun ), to Richard (Hardaker) for the Checkmate Owners logo for my new sig, which I must get round to doing... and to ShaunSheep for keeping me chatting until 3.30 in the morning the night before pick up (that took my mind off my MINI induced insomnia )Just as an interesting aside, I see from the service book that it was bought from Syntner MINI, so some of you guys might even have seen it about! ![]() ![]() The V fred's Resident Lawn Expert - no stripe too narrow |

Offline | Just posted in the other thread. Nylo congrats thats one stunning MINI. I have a pic of a USA Checkmate that's almost identical in my favourite MINI section! Checkmate with full aero kit is just brilliant! Will have to stick mine next to yours if I get the chance! Honestly serious welcome to the new beast! Congrats. ![]() |

Offline | Thank you hun! And I must have a look at your fav MINIs, as that was one thing that struck me when I was looking at pages and pages of Checkmates, there are *very* few with Aerokits! Thank you honey, the pics are a bit crappy, it is soooo shiny in real life! ![]() Thank you very much Andrew. Yep, that'd be me. the spikes have gone (for the time being anyway), growing it out a bit ![]() ![]() The V fred's Resident Lawn Expert - no stripe too narrow |

Offline | I will have to dig the photo out for you of this US one. Think its on my works computer. Will post tomorrow! Congrats again I was seriously contemplating buying one very similar before I found my PL. Is it a 55 reg? I found one very similar around summer last year on MINIcherished. Loved it and really tempted me. ![]() |

Offline | It's June 06, Laura, though we don't work on that reg system. It's got my private plate on it anyway, so it's ageless ![]() Ahhh quit it! I'll take you for a ride next time I'm over, that do you? ![]() ![]() The V fred's Resident Lawn Expert - no stripe too narrow |

Offline | No, I left the Works suspension and the Works exhaust on the DS. Ryan gave me a good price for it, precisely because it had so much done to it, so I didn't think it was fair to strip the thing before I handed it over ![]() The only things I brought over with me are my R105s, my Whalen, the stubby aerial and my chrome speedo/heater rings. ![]() The V fred's Resident Lawn Expert - no stripe too narrow |

Offline | Nah, I'm around for a little longer yet Have to say I was seriously considering a TT for a while, but I had to see the dealer about something else, and when I was there, the Checkmate was sitting at the door, winking at me, dammit And the rest, as they say, is history ![]() ![]() ![]() The V fred's Resident Lawn Expert - no stripe too narrow |
