United-Kingdom Winter MPG - waht are you getting?

So winter is here and petrol price just keeps going up I wanted to ask if you guys feel I had a problem with my 2003 Cooper Auto as I just calculated that for the past 3 tanks, I am only getting 26.7mpg (UK). I do 80% town and 20% motorway driving. I looked up Parkers and I should be getting 31mpg extra urban. What do you guys think and what mpg's are you getting?

yes, i tend to agree!

its not been chipped as such, its the GTT230 kit on a cooper s. But all my driving is "local" stuff, i rarely use the motorway (thats what the mrs' car is for!) so thats the main reason i get pap MPG.

if i do go on a long run (100miles +) then i can get high 30s which is pretty good

that would indeed explain the mpg figure!

problem with owning a one is you have to constantly floor it to keep in the outside lane so lack of patience seems to be why i get such poor mpg!

over the last 3 tanks I have gotten an average of 36.6mpg out of my 2002 Cooper. I do about 70% motorway/dual carriageway but mostly on cruise control and I am on 17" runflats also.

Quite pleased with my mpg but I do try to drive efficiently and it pays off. In summer I can get around 39mpg and get between 320-350 miles out of a tank but did once get 374 miles out of a tank.

57 Mini Cooper, Astro Black.

It isnt every week but the last couple of weeks I have been driving more long journeys instead of short ones so I think that made a difference. Not raking her as much the last while back, apart from tonight and lost alot of petrol
