Fun at the garage

A few months ago I hit a pot hole pretty heavily, it buckled one of the alloys a bit, not enough to need replacing straight away, but enough to upset the handling. I thought about getting the thing repaired, but being a white flame spoke it wasn't a cheap option, so put the option off a the time.

A couple of weeks ago, I came off the M1 at Junction 9, heading towards Redbourne. They seem to have started some road works, which at 5:30 in the morning I didn't see and with no lights, clipped what looked like a wheelie bin in the middle of the road, but could have been part of the works - whatever it was it knocked the cover of the wing mirror off and scratched both drivers front and rear wheel trims, but no other damage resulted.

Service was due last week, so decided to get all bits and bobs done, so ordered new wheel / replacement mirror cover and wheel trims.

On the day - last week, work was done, but mirror cover wasn't in, nor was front trim.
Due to cost of mirror cover in black - due to paint costs, I changed order to 2 chrome covers and had car booked in for yesterday to fit the covers and the trim - I know I could have done it myself, but was a right pain in the bum when I replaced the covers on my last mini.

I had to work away, so wifey took car down for me, got back last night and wheel trim didn't seem to be fixed.

Rang up garage this morning and they said nope, definately replaced the trim, so I went down to talk to service to show them the car and the damaged trim.

after half an hour or so it transpired that they had fitted the trim, but replaced the one they had already replaced last week not replacing the damaged trim. As they didn't have any in stock I have to wait another week for the item to come in.

I now have to wait until Friday to get the correct one replaced. Hopefully will be okay then as am going to Top gear next weekend and want car to look as good as possible, if it's not done and you see a car there looking a little sorry for itself then now you know why

Stu

So Stu, what part of this adventure was the fun bit?

Or did they have some slot machines to amuse while you waited or something?

Make sure you get some freebies from them.
