Offline | Thinking about buying New Clubman I have a 2002 mini cooper I am thinking of changing it (my wife has just had twins) but I am worried about the safety aspect of the extra door on the clubman when I tried it in the showroom with the doors closed if you lean on the part where the two doors meet, it flexes, I am worried in a side impact it will be dangerous does anybody have any experience or know if this wwill be a problem Thanks for the help |

Offline | Your wife has just had twins? Nothing to do with you then? Hehehe only playing. Never seen the problem of flexing you discuss but sounds worrying. Any input any one? ![]() |

Offline | I suspect that the car Purehighlander inspected was either a showroom car that hadn't had its door catches adjusted as part the PDI. or the rear door wasn't shut properly. My doors (suicide and the other one!) are immovable when shut - and I soon got used to giving them a good slam so that the latches lock properly and I avoid gongs and a "door-open" light! The Clubman meets side-impact safety tests too, of course, so I don't think this is an issue. David |
