Offline | Sorry! to hear that, I know how it feels, Sorry! but your a little far away for me to recommend anyone to you. I hate it when the MINI (any of my cars) gets scratched etc... etc... but especially when it's done deliberate and it's mindless, funnily enough I can understand it if they caused a scratched or damage trying to steal something or it (MINI / car), but not just do a scratch deliberately (I know it doesn't excuse it, but I could understand it ), if they knew how much it costs to repair they wouldn't do it again (I mean if you could or did catch them & make them pay £££££).![]() ![]() ![]() Destined to live life £5 behind. | 07' Cooper | I will make them pay ££££! I hate people who do this - what is the point? Im 19, work a few hours a week. I got my car to pay for, petrol etc etc, social life and to me £320 could get me very drunk! lol. But seriously i dont see how any one can think they have the right to touch any one elses stuff! especially my 07' plate MINI Cooper! grrrrrrrrr |

| Hmmmmm | Sorry to hear about the damage - deliberate vandalism is something I just don't understand. I've had a few scratches done to my cars over the years, normally after parking on supermarket carparks and the like and even that p*sses me off that people are so careless. Nowadays I'd rather park on the furthest side of the carpark possible but it still happens. Thanksfully I've never been subject to being keyed intentionally but I feel your pain ![]() 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works |

Offline | Sorry to hear this mate, I'm in a similar position, it's gutting. Mine gone keyed down to the metal down to the metal as an early christmas present, when I had to park it away fom where we live at uni because of roadworks. £320 actually sounds pretty reasonable for respray work, Mini Bristol came back with a quote of over £1k for mine, because they did the passenger door and bonnet, so would need to have them resprayed and then they wanted to do a load of other panels to get the colour match. However, I'm getting mine done without a respray as a first try. I'm filling in the scratches slowly with touch in paint, then getting a pro car detailer to wetsand back the excess then polish the car. Overall I've been quoted £75-100 for the wetsanding, then another £150 for the rest of the car, as I'm a student without an income anymore as well! pm me if you need anymore details, I'm more than happy to offer any help I can and point you in the direction of people etc. Hope it all gets sorted soon. |

| Kernow Mini Man | i had my mini dented by what looks to have been deliberate when I was at college. My brother also had his keyed when he was at university and had to fork out £230 for the rear quarter panel. Now that I go to Uni, I'd rather get the train. I think that younger people seem to get more jealous because they see you pull up in a Mini at a young age. My message to them... ******s!! ![]() BMW Mini One - July 2005 |

| 07' Cooper | When i have the Proximity sensor shouldnt be too bad. When i go to uni im not leaving my car anywhere but outside my appartment....couldnt leave her at home...id miss her lol. Thats all i can think of...is that who ever did it is jelous. When i parked up there was a black Fiesta Ztec-S on one side and nothing on the other (the ide that got keyed). When i got back the Fiesta was still there, but on the other side was a messed up Corsa B, with messed up paint - looked like someone had poured brake fluid over it. Really p***ed off tho. got about £2k worth of work goining into the car in the next couple of months as its show seasson (woopwooop) was supposed to be going to Fast Car tomorrow (my MINI was going on the Midzmodified stand) but had to pull out coz its a mess ![]() |

Offline | I'd be interested to see how their prices compare to the route I'm taking. I think my damage is too bad for them, because of the need to fill and wetsand back. However, if it's not as bad, then I guess I'd still be inclined to polish it out? Here's an idea of the level of damage that can be repaired without respraying --> Waxology: BMW 3 Series - Wet Sanding - NWS - Detailing World . Good luck with it all though, hope it gets resolved soon. |

Offline | I just traded in my 3-year old MG ZR for a Cooper Clubman. The MG had recently been key-scratched from end to end, every panel down the LH side. When I got the part-exchange valuation at the MINI dealer, the sales lady reckoned it would cost £800 for a professional repair (at the MINI paintshop). However I negotiated a good trade-in deal which satisfied me, for them to do the work. Beforehand, I had bought one of those QUIXX scratch-removal kits and spent hours trying to eliminate the scratches, all in vain, the kits are almost useless for serious scratching - although no doubt OK for very minimal scratches. There was a horror story on here about one chap who had a local so-called scratch-removal service, for a VERY minor ding, they did such a lousy job he ended up with a £2500 respray job of half the car. I reckon you have to bite the bullet and get the paintwork done by either your main dealer or a very well recommended independent - or make an insurance claim. |
