United-Kingdom What mini should I choose

Hey everyone!
Im 17 and am looking out for a Mini because I love them! My sister is 21 and she has a really nice Mini Cooper, but theres no way I can afford the insurance on a Mini Cooper!
So i've decided to opt to the Mini One, but which do I choose? The 1st generation or the 2nd generation, I live the 1st gen because I know I can get a bluefin chip for it & their cheaper than the 2nd gen mini... BUT... I love the features of the 2nd gen mini, plus its more economical, and the CO2 emmissions r lower so I'll be paying less road tax! I like the seats in the 2nd gen mini and the fact that their newer... basically I want the 2nd gen mini but to have the ability to get better performance out of it... are there any mods that can be done to get this?
