That was fun!

Woke up this morning at 0820hrs... very grey, very rainy... really wanted to drive my MINI, so said to my girlfriend I'd go and get butter for her toast... honestly, a 10 mile drive for butter! Of course I went the long way!!

Always fun to do impromptu runs

Anyone else done the same?

*puts both hands up* - last night, instead of driving to Sainsburys, which is about 5 mins away, I decided to drive the long way to the next village, to pick up flu remedy. Weather was awful, but the drive was fun

I mission it to Nottingham (40 miles away) instead of a trip into my town centre. Or the next town. Or the one after that. Yesterday I bought some eye drops.

This reminds me.... I need to pop into work to check on some samples I have running through my liquid scintillation analyser. I could, of course, drive straight there in about 11 minutes - but that'd be no fun! 40 mile long-way-round trip for me!!!!

All the best,
Andrew.

Hmmm... careful. You indeed produce less CO2, but please don't be greenwashed by your low road tax and Labour government, you car actually produces more lethal emmissions (to humans) than the petrol counterparts...

When I used to work lates (finish at 10), if I'd had a bad day rather than drive the 25 mile trip straight home I'd go via a few of my favorite roads. A 30 minute 25 mile drive became over an hour and 50+ miles

It's been a while since I went out for an impromtu drive, but today might be the day... MINI is washed, and it looks like St.Patrick has turned the sunny side of the stone, so I feel it might take me a while to get home from football training (which is about a 5 minute journey)

Often I only need to drive one of two miles locally. But I couldn't possibly only drive one or two miles, that wouldn't be any good for engine. I could probably get away with a couple of hundred miles a week, but my average sits between 500 and 1,000
