Ive got a 2002 / 02 Mini cooper, its covered 39000 miles with full service history and has just failed its mot!! Apparently its front sturt top mountings are gone....

Not quite what i was expecting to hear!! anyhows Mini wanted £120 for parts plus near on £200 for fitting them... I managaged to track down some others from GSF and fitted them myself...

Car since passed its mot but seems to have deveolped a banging noise from drivers wheel and also the steering now seems to crunch when u go round corners!

Took the car to a garage and they said everything is fine but the stut mounts are not the right ones for the bloody car!! tried takin them back but as they have been fitted im getting nowhere!

Does anyone know where i can get a set of strut mountings from without paying the bloody stealers!?!?!?!

Already spent a fortune on the car with one thing an another so money is v tight and as i cant get my money bk of GSF im stuck with parts that dont bloody fit! any help would be much appreciated!

I have tried Unipart, TMS, Partco, Europart and all came back with nothin

where are you based in uk? have you tried some of the MINI tuning companys like..

Lohen

ModnMINI

MINI Speed

MINI Mania

MINI Sport

and others on here? they might be able to help. OR ebay?

or moss europe could get the part i would think... did you buy your mini from bmw?

NAh its liquid yellow 2002 mini cooper Chilli, car is from dumfries and galloway... dont know when the plate was put on but ive owned it a year!

don't tar them with all the same brush Hugo! I've also got a 51 plate cooper and its as solid as a rock not put one foot wrong! My 2004 one has been good as well apart from the steering thing.

My 05 Cooper S was a bad car, alot went wrong in 5months, had to go.

I'm on my iPod touch so have the pictures of peoples Minis not on here yes mines chilli red but I also have an Indi blue cooper, my username has nothing to do with my cars colour. All cars have problems even the r56!!

Yea but you would of thought they would of had long enaugh now to sort it out the mini is not a new car just come out for the first time like back in 01. But that's another discussion. All the best getting it fixed!
