Offline | No problems with mine ![]() My R56 Cooper is 15 months old with 10,500 miles on the clock. I bought it ex-demo and have had it since May 2007 when it had 3,000 on the clock. |

Offline | Problem free. No problems at all with my Clubman, super car. The only thing is the dealer lost the second key, and I still haven't got it, but that's not the car's fault. |

| Remember | None worth mentioning? Doesn't sound totally problem free to me? Are you saying that yours hasn't had any work done by the dealer under warranty or that there hasn't been anything wrong? Clarification please Ian ![]() I know I can't post about our R56 in here, as its not been problem free, but then again I haven't posted about the problems as its more constructive to get on with getting them solved instead of whinging like some do when they have a problem ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | I have one of the first Doopers on the road, originating in April 2007 and having covered 10k miles. Not is it problem free, but I am convinced it will continue to provide such service for months or even years to come. Which is nothing more than I would expect of a quality car. |

| Remember | Just questioning if his original post and vote can be officially counted in this thread, come on Ian, reply, don't intend to talk about the non-trouble free R56 we have, got a dealer to talk to about that ![]() Having to have a wind noise dealt with isn't fault free in my world http://www.mini2.com/forum/3301123-post48.html Or this http://www.mini2.com/forum/3313147-post538.html Seems that someone has the engine noise that others call a fault, so maybe the title of this thread should be the 'I've got an R56 but can live with the small niggles unlike some' thread ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

![]() less than 24 hrs now wooo | the wind noise was only really a problem above the legal national speed limit, which to me doesn't count as a real problem, as I could only really hear it when we were in Germany and the only time it got worse here was when we started to get the really strong winds, and I started to hear it at around 60mph +, but again it was dependant on wind speed and angle etcas for the engine noise, as I said in that post, it's only very intermittant and I love the car too much to start getting anal about it - yeah it's been looked at, but if it's not happening every time I start the car up, I can't count it as a real fault ![]() and this isn't a dig at anyone in particular, it's just a general observation, but I don't know why people seem to have it in so much for the R56 and keep picking at it, calling it a fat MINI, it's not as good as the 1st gen etc - at the end of the day, it is still a MINI and in my eyes those people are all as bad as those few classic owners that you come across that say the BMW MINI isn't a real Mini, it's German ****, etc - just really ****es me off! the 1st gen had problems too ![]() |

| Giggity-goo! | I agree with you on the whole MINI sort of class system that seems to exist. I don't see it myself between the R53/R56, and I have never experienced it with regards to classic owners but I have heard of it. And you're right on the 1st gen having problems too. My g/f's mum has just bought an R56 Cooper and has so far been problem free, and I agree with the sentiment of the thread to hear the good stories rather than just the bad. Please, read this post fast in case it disappears; I've checked it for light hearted observational humour and can't find any, so it should be ok. ![]() ![]() |

| Remember | If it doesn't count as a real problem then why take it in to have it fixed? ![]() ![]() I'm not getting involved on the which is better conversation R53/R56 etc, got both, know which I prefer, this thread isn't about that as far as I am aware? Its about finding if there is anyone out there that has a totally 100% fault free R56 MINI, which you don't have Ian and we don't have either and the problems we've had on our R56 are not as serious as yours. IMHO there is no 100% fault free car out there, there will be something, no matter how small there is always one thing, on all brands/makes/models, its more a case of how picky the owner is or willing to live with these or class them as a fault or not, just you are saying your faults are not faults ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | I wouldn't say my R56 has been 100% problem free, but for an early build (Nov 06) I'd say a blown mirror fuse, misaligned bonnet and floor mat that won't stick down and that's it is very good...and I'm loving it! Great to see a thread spreading the R56 love! ![]() |

Offline | Touch wood mines 100% problem free. No rattles, wind noise, rushing fluid noises, hot spots or engine noises. Not a sausage ! Same goes for my missus car, after reading all the problem posts it's like I'm almost waiting for something but so far it's all good. White alloys are a bugger to keep clean I suppose but it's not a fault just a fact of life in British winter ![]() |
