MINI2

I am soon to be the proud owner of a 2008 Cooper, pick up next Fri (I hope) and thought I'd search the net for an associated forum and happened across this one

now, not being a lurker by nature, decided the best thing to do was register and introduce myself.

This will be my first ever Mini ~ always liked the look of them on the road, but never really took my fancy in terms of buying one (yeh ok, mistake I know). Not only was I impressed with look of the newer mini's, but I was astounded at how many variations there are ~ meaning you can really go to town when personalising your ride ~ how cool is that

So, don't know much about them (yet), but am sure they'll be loads of info on here. Went for a BRG Cooper, though was torn between that and a 54 plate Cooper S with lots of bells & whistles (though not literally). Went for the 08 Cooper mainly because I do tend to buy new (ish) and it looked lush sat in the showroom ~ don't think I'll be disappointed, though still not quite sure about the white alloys (though reckon they'll grow on me).

Anyway, enough of me blarring on ~ look forward to getting to know you folks and picking up lots of advice.

Hi Skat and welcome. I'm sure you'll not be disappointed but beware, once the MINI bug has got you there's no known cure

Spent ages this morning looking around the forum and reading various threads ~ so much to read, so little time!

Well, best I get my butt in gear and do what needs doing ~ but I plan to return shortly and soak up as much info as I can about all things Mini.

Hi skat, welcome to the wonderful world on MINI ownership. You won't be disappointed. The only problem I think you will have with owning a MINI is trying to remove the grin from your face every time you get into your car

I just went through the exact same dilemma, whether to buy a brand new cooper or a year old cooper S with options.

You are going to love your new car I am sure

Aww such a warm welcome ~ really impressed. Plan to spend a few hours picking through the various forums here trying to gather as much info as poss.
Will post pics when I get my new toy and look forward to any feedback.
Glad to see there are a lot of really nice folks on here, without any snobbery regarding model or mark of vehicle.
Look forward to getting to know you more as time moves on

Yep, gotta agree the Cooper S is pretty cool

so hope the fact I went for the new Cooper not the older S wont disappoint. The S, was however a bit 'boy racer' in view of the fact it had the viper stripes and whole 'sport mode' thing going on ~ but hey, maybe in the future I can go for much the same and relive a little bit of my youth

Just need to edge myself gently into the whole Mini experience
