Offline | The same provision that enables the insurance companies to void policies if you have no MOT. It is the business of insurance companies to make money, not give it away, no matter what they purport to offer. |

Offline | I do not have this provision in my policy. As we all know, an MOT is only evidence of the condition of a car on the day it is tested. It does not speak to the condition of a car at any other time. My policy wording requires me to keep my car in satisfactory condition at all times which makes much more sense. A current MOT says nothing about the present condition of a car and, accordingly, neither does its absence. I would be interested if you could post the wording that your policy has in this regard as it is clearly very different from mine.. |

Offline | My policy just states: The insured must take all reasonable precautions to:- a maintain an insured vehicle in an efficient and roadworthy condition and b safeguard it from loss or damage. Please note: I have a trade policy and I sometimes buy write-off vehicles that have had their MOTs etc... etc... cancelled revoked so if I don't have any proof ie, a current MOT I have no proof it was ever roadworthy again hence, I have been asked & needed to produce a current MOT any time an accident / incident has occurred. I know a vehicle can be in a roadworthy condition without an MOT but I wouldn't want too chance it as the MOT is a legal requirement if the vehicle is due one (it could be argued to be un-roadworthy if it didn't have one, you could also argue it doesn't need an MOT to be roadworthy) and so is the TAX if the vehicle is to be used on the road .![]() ![]() ![]() Destined to live life £5 behind.
