Welcome to the site, probably the best resource for BMW Minis that there is....

One thing to check is the TLC package. I've got a late 2003 JCW bought it in September 2007, and I've just booked it in for it's 40K service for next week with David Holmes in Stockport.

Really chuffed, its free, still on the TLC. Only got to pay £15 for the insurance on a courtesy car.

Think Minicabrio and the guys have covered it all above really. As Nylo says Modern MINI mag is available and fills some quiet time. It's the best and usually any news/meets in there, appeared somewhere on M2 earlier. It's the main problem with magazines that are monthly, when M2 is live 24/7. I also agree with Nylo that their advice is conservative to say the laest and not always wholy accurate. It does seem to be selling well though as it is now far easier to track down than it was, try Smiths or Tesco.

Diolch yn fawr Humph. I am guessing that your are a Welshman living in Hot pot country?

Thanks to all for the warm welcome, We went back to the dealers today for a proper test drive, the car we selected had only just been traded in, so we gave them a few days to prep it, returned and are due to collect it on Saturday. Mrs Bissell was really pleased during the test drive, and i was mightily impressed with the car.
The information given to me on here regarding servicing and chilli option was very helpful, incidentally the car doesnt have the chilli pack , oh well, its got a really cool red interior!!! and the dealer is throwing in some mats etc.

They showed me the list of work they had carried out to bring the car to "cherished" status, i certainly wouldnt have wanted to foot the bill!!!!!!!

oh well, we collect the car on Saturday, heres to plenty of mini adventures.

P.S, are there any Owners clubs in the North west?

Yeah HJ's prices are over inflated on the Cherished scheme!

I take mine to Woodman's in Blackpool for Sales and Service

There used to be a few of us around in the Chester area, it's kinda fizzled out now, I normally meet up with a few in Preston area, for meets and the like-although thats also gone a bit quiet...

I'm between Chester and Wrexham, you may see me around on the A483 and the A55!

we are in the south Flintshire area, surprised that you are going all the way to Blackpool for service!!!! I am planning on using HJ's in in Chester or Warrington, durinng the warranty period, but i will probably take the car to Trenics in Deeside thereafter.

Many travel much further than that for the services of Derek Woodmans.

Potentially the best dealership in the country.

Born and bred in North Wales, parents are originally from your neck of the woods.

Congrats on your purchase. Hope it brings you a lot of good times.

As far as clubs go there are a couple in your area that cater for new MINI as well as classics. There are a couple of members on here that may be able to help you out on that front, I just forget who they are at present. As Aldo says most of the North West meets organised on M2 are around the Manchester or Wyre areas, but there are a few members around Chester/Wrexham.

As for service i have no experience of HJ in Chester, apart from one test drive. I would steer clear of the Williams group, check dealer feedback forum. I too am a Derek Woodman customer and travel 60+ miles each way for service.

fair play, Woodmans must be decent, not sure i could be bothered travelling to Blackpool for service though, although it is only every fifteen thousand miles !!!.
We have bought the wifes cooper from HJ's in Warrington, who have had a mixed response on this sites feedback.
Just one more day left till we pick the cooper up now, looking forward to getting it!!!!

Hi Bissell,

It's quite odd, because I'm a Bissell too....So thought i would do a good Bissell deed and comment on a fellow Bissell's thread.

First things first, Mini Warranties are awesome, my first Mini was my second car ( first car being a MG ZR, so dont ask!) it was 51 plate dark blue and had some nice kit on it half Leather seats etc, anyways second day i had it the power steering pump went!! But i have never known a garage to go so out of its way to fix it for me. There where a few other things that annoyed me all of which i took up with BM and were fixed quickly.

I'm noW glad to say i'm on to My next car a Mini Cooper S which is insane and would never look back. Obviously as i get older i will look to get a bigger car but for now it's awesome.

Checking the rest of the thread i see most people have answered your other questions but please contact me if you have any more questions.
