Electic Blue S Hello/Intro

Hello all,

New-owner, used-Mini. Recently got an electric blue with black 2004 MCS.

Formerly a motorcycle only guy. Got taken out by an SUV a few months back, so to keep the family peace promised to get a car. Wanted something different, so it was either a Mini or a Smart Car. Wanted to go fast, so it was a Mini!

Fortunately, Mini drivers here are like motorcyclists. Friendly waves and such. You feel like you have more in common than most motorists, to my eager, young mini-enthusiast eyes at least.

Learning lots on the web. There is certainly more to know than the owners manual lets on. If I could just figure out how to keep the wheels clean! (the wife has a BMW, so I know there is no dice there!).

Hi there, hope your all recovered from your accident, please accept the sympathies from a fellow biker. It`s not the same thrill as a bike but just as much fun. Hope you enjoy the mini2 experience as much as your MCS. If you get the chance maybe post some pic`s of your ride, oh before i forget welcome and have fun.

Lapsed biker here too! Okay, it's not the same as a bike, but it comes pretty close Come to think of it, since I've had the S, I haven't missed using the bike at all and that's really saying something!

Oh yes, welcome to the site

Hi and welcome! What part of NC? I used to live in Gastonia, many many years ago. There are some very good local clubs there, mainly M2C2 and Tarheel MINIs. As a biker, you probably know about the Deal's Gap resort and US 129 the Dragon, but did you know there is a national gathering of MINIs there in early May?

Cheers,
Sherry

Thanks for all the replies.

As for the accident, I was extremely lucky. Going about 45mph. Bike was totaled. I got a concussion and some bruises. Nothing else. No broken bones, no road rash.

I have been to Deal's Gap on a bike. I like riding the Parkway better, since the Gap is all tight hairpins and low speed, but it is fun to go to. I was hoping to make the Minis on the Dragon this year, but not sure it will happen. I am around Ft. Bragg, BTW. I did not know about the May meet, unless that is MotD.

Yes, the May meet is MotD. Fuzzy and I are some of the founding members, we were one of the sixty odd cars there for the first MotD in April 2003.

I'll have to run it by the wife as things get closer and she knows more. She is doing clinicals now, and can't see many weeks in the future. The Gap is only about four hours for us...
