I'd have a BRG MINI any day, I've worked on, seen and come across some really nice looking one's (not to keen on the cab's with the green roofs though, that's just my personal preference ) .

Mine's the one on the left.

Certain psychological studies have shown that Green cars are favoured by either hysterical people or geniuses (Maybe it's a fine line ?)
However if you where a genius you'd probably think that buying the green would affect it's resale value and go for the colour that gave the most value at trade in. Which only goes to show what a load of guff most psychological studies produce.
Like Paul said a good indicator is that if you like it there's a good chance someone else will. It seems from companies that have BRG in the colour palate that cars outside the UK do well with it. Jaguar have two versions of BRG in there scheme and it's not a strong seller in the UK but does very well in other countries. Makes you wonder if we think it's a bit obvious here having a BRG car with a tan interior, but the Americans and Mainland Europeans like it because it fits the image of the British built car and the historical connotations ?
Bottom line is if you like it go for it and be dammed with the resale. Personally I wouldn't buy a black car because it's a swine to keep clean and stone chips always show up so badly. Still looks cool when it's clean though

Yes. I like BRG. I would have another MINI in the same colour. Goes well with a white roof.

brg

I was undecided if i would like the british racing green until i bought one, there arent that many about and it looks stunning

I was determined to go for the Grey as i always loved them but after seeing the this one i had to have it, i think its one of the best looking colours for the mini a real head turner, i would say go for a black roof rather then white but its down to personal taste, i dont think i would have a problem selling this on.

having had a few lotus etc i have to say this is the most fun car i have owned

My local dealer told me that green was to be stayed away from resale wise as our local estate agent has them for their company cars and hence they were prettty common place - though this could be commonplace to london only!

Mini's seem to be the car of choice for estate agents for some reason in and around london! Though hardtops only though!

I don't think the resale value has anything to do with the fact Foxtons tend to have mostly BRG as their agents cars. It is common knowledge that BRG (and yellow) will command about £500 less when being sold back to a dealership than any other colour. As you stated Foxtons only have hardtops for their fleet cars.

I still think the BRG/green hood is a fab looking car!

Hmmm

Ive been told that Green cars are the most unlucky colour of cars to have. This was told to me by an ex boss, who had a blue jag, it went into the dealer for a service, they gave him a courtesy Jag, in BRG, he phoned me up to say he was worried as they are unlucky, he then arrived at our office and crashed straight into reception doing 30 mph I kid you not, a true story

You know that was an April's fool? BRG isn't going anywhere.

I'll try take some pics of my Dad's BRG Dooper. Looks stunning with a white roof, white bonnet stripes, chequered mirror covers and chequered roof .

i would NEVER have a green car again

i had a brand new 2000 clio and it was hit 3 times in its first 3 weeks, none of which was my fault!

if you have to have green buy a green air freshner

My old Cooper was BRG, I picked the colour mainly because it was the rarer choice, it still is a rare colour 4 yrs on.
I used to have loads of comments on MINI runs because the shine was fantastic on it, so much so I entered Beaulieu Concors ( see pic)

But, it was hard to sell the car because of the colour, most people wanted red, black or white at the time.

If I have another MINI it would be Pepper White

i think it looks great - you hardly see any (think i've only ever seen one)

saying that, i personally wouldn't buy one in BRG but thats just my preference

if you like it go for it - no matter what we all tell you you'll probably still go with your gut anyway

Ok ~ gotta jump on the pro brg wagon. Always loved brg on cars, had a puma in a very similar colour, a bmw compact and never had any probs selling on.

So when I got offered the showroom model, the fact it was brg actually sold it for me, just wasn't sure about white alloys at first but love them now.

Ultimately it's always down to personal choice and if you like it, then buy it ~ if it did lose iro £500 on resale, that's no big deal

Mini : Mini Cooper S Cabriolet

Thanks for your help!

I heard that they'll be discontinuing BRG so it could become a collectors item, it least in patriotic britain.

Personally I thought the interior and exterior combination is fine. i used to have black leather on a previous bmw cabrio and when i left it with the roof down in the summer sun even after 5 minutes it would burn my *ss so i learnt to go for lighter colours.

Resale time i think you'll be fine, the ones i don;t see moving too much are yellow ones.

surely buying a car is about what YOU like? not what someone else is going to buy after you (worry about that when it comes to the time)

Strange that BRG with a White roof was one of the most popular colour's for the last 10 years of the Rover Classic Mini Cooper but not for the MINI Cooper..............
Also that White is very popular on MINI's but very unpopular (in recent years) on most other cars? Even most Police cars are now Silver instead of White to increase their resale values at auction.
