We Finally Have Our MINI!!!!

Today, one month to the day after the originally projected delivery date, we got our new car. The weather itself was a bit grey and it drizzled a bit. A touch of English weather for an English car I thought. I can't contain myself so here is a photo-journal of our first day with the MINI:

My lovely wife Becky starts looking over the car as we take delivery:

The car was delayed while they repaired some minor scratches on the hatch, I looked thoroughly and it is an excellent job:

The folks at P&W went over everything very systematically:

We drove up to a local office park so Becky could practice driving the standard transmission. She's doing well:

She looks pretty happy!

I think I'm pretty happy as well:

Becky was a sport and let me drive back up through the twisties alone so I could come back down and she could take these pics:

100 Miles already! (Have yet to reset the trip odometer since delivery) As you can see we were enjoying some good Motoring, despite the weather:

Well, we are home now. I'm about to be obsessive and go clean the white wheels before the break dust sets in too bad. I'm sure that sort of behavior will end in a couple weeks

In the meantime, what a car! We had a great day and are looking forward to taking it back out tomorrow.

The day I picked up my MSC, having waited a couple of months for it to arrive, one of the owners of the company I work for walked in and bought an Indy Blue/White Cooper off the lot for his daughter who only has a learners permit. But now it's in the shop getting the automatic transmission replaced.

I believe it actually says 94.5 miles on th trip meter. Odometer says 100, so the tripmeter was reset at 5.5 miles. So would that be your delivery mileage?

Just right about the trip meter, 94.5 miles from delivery. As to the location of the bridge, I think somewhere around Apollo, PA. We just headed north out of town on 28, stopped to drive around the RIDC a bit for practice and then headed north. After a while we turned east on one of the roads towards Indiana, PA and then after a while started following signs for roads heading back south or west, eventually bumping into 22 and heading home. No map with us at the time. I doubt I could reconstruct the route.

Mike, wow, I couldn't imagine how anyone can manage to screw up an automatic gearbox these days.
