Offline | Good morning all Thanks for all of the kind words - too many posts overnight to respond to them individually Yes it is the home of Exotic cars - in fact we will be able to hear Ferrari testing as we are only about 5 or 6 miles away from their test track. Imagine waking up to the distant sound of an F1 engine being put through it's paces. Food quality - say no more, Italian food is excellent, you never find bad food only poor service. Language - No I can not speak Italian at the moment, lessons are planned, However Jan's Italian is coming along nicely, she has been using Cd's and also the BBC web based language course. As I said in the first post visitors are most welcome - be aware that the summer is very hot and humid. Will post up some more pictures as the move progresses. In Italy |

Offline | Well we flying down this weekend and are not driving down until 19th May - hopefully Stelvio will be clear by then. Ferrari Museum is good, it also has a good bar (cafe in English) we were there when they launch the 2008 F1 car but we just missed all of the action, only the journos were left. Takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get to the museum for our new gaff. Just come out of the loft having got out all of the Christmas decorations ready for the removal men. Seems strange sorting out Christmas decoractions at this time of year. In Italy |

Offline | Update We have settled in much smoother than expected, had the delights of dealing with Italian decorators - their standards are about as good as some UK contractors. Some small elements of damage during moving but nothing major and insurance claim in progress at the moment. Getting used to Italian driving - it seems that cars do not have indicators and that roundabouts are not round, oh and all cars are much shorter than you think and can fit into any gap at any speed on any road. The M25 has nothing on the ringroads in Italy. We had our first visitors last Friday - Pappi and Goonery joined us for the evening whilst they are on their European road trip. Lots of Italian beer and wine was consumed sat on the patio until 2200 hrs and then deserts and more wine were taken inside. We are heading back to the UK on Friday and will see some of you at Himley hall this weekend and then the Charity ball on 17th. Ciao for now Alan & Jan In Italy |

Offline | Pics will be up at the weekend - they are in Jan's camera. The horn has already had some serious use as has the ABS on the brand new Merc A180 CDI I have as a temporary car - a 3 series BMW decided he wanted the exit on the ring road that I was already in the slip road for, we missed by inches. It could have been difficult to explain the need for a new front wing and bonnet after only 90 KMS In Italy |
