Yes you can mod your car too much, but I think many members on here would soon tell you if you were going over the top

There is NOTHING wrong with your Mini - It looks fantastic!! Happy modding

A wet dream can only become a reality if you chase it...

Its all a question of taste and fashion !!!
History has shown these change rapidly ,but at the time ........
Platform shoes?
shirt collars?
trousers with more material than a large yacht sail?
long hair,short hair,no hair .?
Whatever the fashion of the time ,the only sin is to not follow, unless you are making an anti fashion statement?

If someone wants his/her car with more chrome than a gypsy caravan , have it! we are all individuals, some more than others

Actually, I've been thinking about getting a 20-foot aerial... radio reception amongst the bonny hills of Scotland isn't great at the best of times.

I am of the school, less is more and if it doesn't add performance or serve a purpose, don't do it. However for aesthetic mods like your it's horses for courses and you are on the right side of the line

Randall Raines, That's very funny. When I saw the thread title, I was going to post *exactly that car*! Lambo doors aren't for me but could be cool if tastefully done. The full fiber bodykit is too much though, I think it looks ridiculous. My comment when I saw it was that I'd hoped the car was a write-off to start with because it is for sure now!

Is that car even finished or is it still going to the paint shop?

Hi RichTea. Can you tell me how you connected your harmon kardon ipod interface to your car?

Do you put it through a FM transmitter?

I was thinking of buying one of these last month but was concerned about the sound quality. What do you think of the quality?

Cheers,
Scott

If this website didnt exist im sure everyone wouldnt spend as much money on customising their cars!! lol

You see a photo on here and think "hmm that would look good on my car"

It is a slippery slope im afraid but we are all the same.

You can definately mod too much though and make the car look like OTT
Just one thing to remember, never add up the total cost of your modifications.

Your car looks nice btw

Hi Scott,

Yep I feed in through a wired FM transmitter to the rear of the head unit. I too had concerns about how it would sound but at less than £30 delivered I took the chance.

The sound quality is fine, probably the same as a good quality FM broadcast. On very few occasions when I am driving around (out of my local area) I sometimes get just a second of what I would call interference. But it is literally a second and my Mrs says she has never noticed it so i may just be being over critical.

However there is also a traditional Aux cable too so if you have a compatible headunit you could connect via this.

In summary I think its brilliant for the money and it also charges the ipod at the same time. I bought a damaged Ipod mini (cracked screen) from Ebay for about £20 and its permanently in the car.

Any other questions just ask,

Cheers,
Rich.

I dont think you could make a MINI look tacky the thing i do hate is when you see cars trying to be a MINI by putting bonnet stripes e.g. puntos, clios, suzuki swifts, peugeot 106. I also saw a fiesta the other day with a checkered roof it just doesnt work if its not a MINI

I think it is certainly possible to go overboard with modifications, etc. At the end of the day is is a very personal thing, especially with MINI's. I certainly believe there are combinations that MINI allow possibility to spec that should be outlawed and conversely there are specs that are not possible, despite being in much better taste, IMO.

I suppose that is the bottom of the issue though...it is only my opinion and personal taste.

Brian.

Where did you get the Cooper Signature stickers from? They are really good and I'd love to get some!

I saw exactly the same thing about a week ago on a Focus! I thought it was just one Ford owner doing a one-off, but if you've seen it too then Ford must be offering it on new builds. You know the adverts - 'should have gone to SpecSavers'?

Should have gone to MINI.

All the best,

I think the MINI is a car with a 'cheeky' personality & can get away with certain mods that would definately not suit other cars.

You're so right! The best bit about having a mini (apart from the driving of it of course) is the opportunity to add you own little/big 'tweaks' here and there. We will all like different 'extras' naturally, but go on...make it your own

As with others on here, you can go over the top. But it's all subjective, we all have different opinions on what's conservative, what's too much etc. If you like the look of it yourself then you should do it.

I've always liked the idea of less is more, the whole Q-car thing. I have a MCS but every now again I'd like to hit a button and for the alloys to enlarge from 17" to 18", viper stripes to appear etc etc but I guess I'm now being a bit stupid.

Just promise me one thing, and apologies to anyone on here with them (just not my taste that's all) but don't fit chrome plated A-, B-, and C-pillars.

There is a Fiesta at the Ford Dealers in Stafford and it is Lime Green and has a chequered roof and it has been on the forecourt for four months or more
