Goodbye Pingu - and thanks for the memories

Well - it is with deep sadness and heavy heart that I announce that my S Works convertible, Pingu, has now left the Shamster household to grace the cherished section at Derek Woodman MINI. . Some of you know that he was my fourth MCS and knowing that he would be the last supercharged MCS I had I decided to spec him up to the hilt when I ordered as I knew that at some point I would have to let him go. Finally the wave that he's doing in my signature is a goodbye wave.

I dropped him off this morning not wanting to hand over the keys to Alison and was struggling to hold the tears back if truth be told - even the wife and kids were sad, but so long Pingu and thanks for the memories. .

I know that whoever ends up having him next will have some great MINI adventures with him and will hopefully keep his spirit alive by taking him on more MINI runs.

I am planning on replacing him with another MINI but will it ever be the same?

Some memories to share. From the time he turned up in Jun 06 when he shared the drive with the outgoing MCS, to the Lancashire Lanes Run, Derek Woodman World record attempt with the two QQJ's to a short video of a Maniacs Run doing what he loved best - going round and round and round the roundabouts - Nerp Nerp!! .

Will he return under a different guise?

So what's next Sham? I was sad to see Daisy go, but happy with the clubbie replacement.

*blows nose hard*

Tis a sad day indeed Sham....I have very fond memories of Pingu especially all those roundabouts but especially that one we went round, ooh must have been 20 times at least!

I can't wait to see/hear/know/believe what is going to replace Pingu but one thing is for sure.....that has got to be the longest you have ever owned one Mini!

Are you going to replace with R56?
Could you of not kept kept pingu for a little while longer?

Hard one Sham, as it was such an absolutely stunning MINI, but I suspect whatever comes next will be just as much fun, albeit in a different way

Probably not the right time to say this, but I think Pingu was probably one of the nicest MINIs I have ever seen

Both you and Dakini have experienced that crazy side - he loves rounding the roundabouts, what more can I say?

Great memories Laura - do you remember the guy that night who decided to clean the windscreen at the Piccadilly Circus lights even though I told him not to LOL!! Next time our diaries happen to mingle in London we must do cocktails again

You're definitely going senile - that was the previous MINI not Pingu. And don't worry, I will get you back

If anyone has any photies of him from any runs please put them up or send them to me - I am compiling a hardcopy album which I'm going to get made up.
