My 2001 mini cooper creaks and squeaks like crazy going over any sort of undulation in the road, it has low miles 29000, my independent garage says they don't know what the problem is but their hunch is the anti roll bar and after much sucking of air between teeth pronounced "its a big job". Do any of you have any experience of this? Also my drivers seat squeaks a lot. Any answers would be appreciated by a damsel in distress who has a MOT due in 6 weeks. My BMW driving hubby just rolls his eyes in a "get it sorted woman" kind of way so I am trying you guys before I go to the official dealer and their £75 an hour + vat labour charges. Thanks Ali.

I have a creaking driver's seat too, I feel your pain!! Mine is a 2006 with 25,000 miles, luckily still under warranty so I can get it fixed that way.

I once had a squeeky seat, so i removed the cloth and foam and found the squeek to be an annoying little spring rubbing on the frame. a little grease on the spring and the squeek was gone but it`s quite a time consuming job. As for any squeeks on the suspension or steering then a liberal squirt of spray oil on the rubber bushes and joints usually does the trick. If him indoors does`nt mind getting his hands dirty it should only take a few hours. Try finding a good independant garage and leave the stealers well alone. Hope that helps you out.

fordcymru, can you get to the spring from under the seat, or does the cloth wrap around the whole seat? Just thinking if you could get your hand up and under the seat to grease the spring.
