Offline | Door Chime Location? Can anyone tell me where the damned door chime is? I like to leave my keys in the ignition at night (in my garage of course) and when I open the door the chime makes my nuts! It also goes off when I have my stereo on with the drivers door open. I've been wanting to take this out for ages, but can't seem to find it... Any help? |

| Lovin' every MINI of it! | Not real smart to leave your keys in the ignition.... As for the chime, I believe that it is handled by the BC1 and not easily bypassed. In fact, I don't nor have I heard of a way to turn it off or disable it. Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | I've left my keys in my ignition (in a locked, fully enclosed garage) on every car I've ever had since I was 16. 2 VW GTI's and my '02 Chili MCS. No Danger- That way I don't have to search for my keys in the morning! ![]() |

![]() Hacking the IBUS | Hee hee, No the dealer charged me to enable it, along with a few other things, I guess it's not everyone personal taste. There is no requirement to have it enabled by law in the US is there? Otherwise I can't see a problem for the dealer to disable it. ![]() |

Offline | ![]() But c'mon it saves having to search all over the house looking for them each time you need to use the car....... Mmmmmm either putting them in the same secure place or one of a couple of secure places (that you will remember through regular use) also saves you from searching all over the house - common sense?...... or maybe I should patent that idea ![]() |
