Offline | New Mini Cooper D - And Is Apparant Good Fuel Consumption Hi I owned a mini one d and i got 550 to the tank. I have just bought a mini cooper d and i am getting 376 to the tank. I have asked BMW iF this is correct and advise it isnt. They have checked the car but advise there is nothing wrong with the car. I have done 2000 miles and apparently the fuel consumption is meant to get better at 1500 but it hasnt.. I bought the car thinking i would not have to fill it up so much and now i spend more time in the petrol station than i did owning an astra (i know crap car!) I am interested to know what other Cooper D mini drivers are getting in terms of fuel consumption! or if you have had issues with this! Cheers Tino |

| Back To My Old Self | Welcome to MINI2 Could this be to do with fuel tank sizes? Your ONE D versus the Cooper D? MINI.co.uk say that the Cooper D has a 40 litre fuel tank. This is smaller than the ONE D, I think. Could this be the problem? After all at 50mpg that is only 450 ish miles to a tank. What is mpg figure on the cars computer? Have you worked out the mpg out yourself as a check? ![]() |

Offline | I get a conservative 400 m/tank without trying and 52 mpg from new over 3000 miles. Are you using BP Ultimate? (My Clubman D is more responsive and is quieter and smoother on this than on whatever ordinary stuff the dealer used initially.) David |

Offline | Tino, when you say 376 miles per tank is that until it is empty? Or is it until the red 2 bar low fuel warning comes on?. This means that there is 8 litres left in the tank. Remember the Dooper only has a 40 litre tank compared to the One D's 50 litres So 376 / 32 litres = 11.75 miles per litre converted to gallons = 53.42 mpg Incidentally the mpg does improve as you get used to driving it economically. If the tank was 50 litres like the One D that would mean 53.42 * 50 = 600 miles range I can easily get 58/60 mpg in my 07 Dooper (no stop-start - 520 miles per tank) but it is dependent on driving style.. My 12,000 mile average is I guess about 57. |

Offline | Mine does around 54mpg, and it reads about 450ish miles to the tank from the last fill up (I think). I normally fill it up when the 2 bar red fuel light comes on, that way I know how many litres I can stick in there (due to the 'click click click' problem, ive had it over fill before!) |
