Offline | Is your MNI noisy? I picked up my 55 plate Coopers S Checkmate yesterday- love it. but...... it has a few noises i am unsure of with the steering (it's not the whining noise) Its a bit clunky and sounds like it's rubbing on something. So is your MINI noisy and where? |

Offline | I had the singing air vents in my (non-climate) Cooper until a BMW tech modified a 3-series air-flap and the singing went away - there is apparently a PUMA in regards to this issue and the application of some specified foam strips to the recirculation flap should in most cases resolve the poor seal that is causing the problem. In my S with climate I have no singing. Slight whir from the power-steering when parking is perfectly normal - don't keep in on full lock for any period of time, this is bad for any power steering. I often hear other noises too, relays clicking and the odd buzz from behind the dash, flaps apparently opening and closing, fans going on and off etc - there are a lot of electronics in these cars......it's just your Mini letting you know that he/she is working hard for you... ![]() I also hear this amazing whine when I stomp on the gas and a crazy pop pop pop when I take my foot off - especially on days like today with the sunroof and both windows completely open...........it's even better if you can find a nice, long, empty tunnel ![]() Cheers, Geoff. |
