hi there, all of a sudden one of the doors (driver-side) wont unlock when i use the remote. i have to manually open it with the key now. anyone heard of this, is it a common fault or will i need to get it looked at? thanks

you weren't carrying your keys in your trousers by any chance? This happened to me, went to unlock the car and it wouldn't work, used the key to unlock and the alarm went off. I think it was because I had the keys in my pocket and the button had been pressing against me and therefore wouldn't work when went to open the car. It did eventually work after 5 mins or so and have had no worries since, seemed like a temporary glitch but always leave plenty of room for my keys now.

By any chance does this NOT work, everywhere you go?

Reason I ask, Is when I go to a certain place (A certain petrol station in leicesters) My car will not unlock or lock remotley, as if something is interferring with it, But everywhere else it works.

OMG!
GRRR.
Mine has been doing this for the last week and it is driving me insane!
It also does it when i lock it from the inside, the drivers door remains open.
I phoned MINI and they said to bring it in and they'd have a look. They weren't overly helpful!

Sounds like the switch has gone on the door lock quite common around £60 for it, can be done by yourself if your that way inclined.

thanks guys, sounds like it could be the switch then, just started doin it outta the blue. im not that way inclined so itl be a bit of old school unlocking

til i get it fixed. thanks for your help

ok, literally 20 minutes later i go to unlock my car as i was going out, and all of a sudden the driver door is unlocking properly!

maybe wait a few days more and see if starts working before spending the £60!
